Tank Day
The Least Corporate Event Ever!

When a brand like Grenade invites you to deliver their corporate event, you jump!
‘Tank Day’ is Grenade’s way of thanking 120 of their VIP customers with the most non-corporate event ever! It’s become a bit of a brand tradition to drive tanks and crush cars in the middle of a field in Brackley.
After winning the competitive pitch, team M&P proposed some ideas to breathe new life into this established event, but which remained in keeping with the military theme and improved the overall experience for the VIPs.
We installed a 28m vintage military tent to host morning roll call, registration and the operations briefing. Guests were kitted out in camou jump suits, SAS style team arm bands and ID badges before enjoying breakfast from a selection of street food trucks. A welcome video played on 2 large plasma screens inside the tent ahead of the brand presentation and few words of encouragement from Grenade’s MD. A surprise parachute stunt display from the Jump Dogs team followed, immediately setting the tone for the rest of the day with the Grenade flag flying high above the crowd before coming into land at a cool 70mph!
It’s no surprise that Grenade employees are fitness fanatics so introducing a competitive element was important, but we had to be mindful of their VIP customers too, ensuring all activities were complimentary and suitable for a range of ages and abilities. Introducing the Xtreme Ninja Assault Course:
Inspired by the hit TV show, the obstacle course is designed to test the limits of even the fittest gym-bunny but safe enough for everyone else to enjoy and have fun. A mix of Grenade influencers, athletes and customers took on the challenge in a competitive race to top the leader board in the fastest time. Kicking things off with quintuple steps, hell holes, and the hot-stepper, racers moved onto the balance beam and mushrooms before tackling the travelator and ending with the showstopper finale, a free-fall stunt bag drop. The stopwatch recorded finish times as racers released the smoke effects from the final button.
Throughout the day, six teams were rotated through the Ninja obstacles plus a series of military themed activities that included; shooting, archery, climbing, Bren gun stripping, paintball and of course, tank driving. Grenade bars, snack and drinks were available at each station for refuelling and hydration. The beautiful Northamptonshire sunshine helped make this event a thoroughly memorable event for everyone involved!
